Humanoid fantasy creatures often feature magical abilities. Human-animal hybrids such as centaurs, demons, merfolk and angels have a rich history in legend and connection with Elemental spell casting.
Such creatures are deeply interconnected with dragons through themes of hybridity, transformation, and ecological guardianship, acting as bridges between the human, animal, and elemental worlds.
Greek cosmology used the chart shown below which depicts an arrangement of the Elements in multiple paired associations and opposites. This illustrates Aristotelian notions of dichotomy. Hot and cold, and wet and dry are fundamentally contrasted. Fire rises, Water falls. Water is by nature wet and cold, and as such share features with Air and Earth. Fire is hot and dry. Air is wet and hot according to the balance of moisture and heat.
Dragon Summoners wield the magic of all the Elements but as you will find out when playing this game some Elements counteract the actions of others when used in combination. For example Fire magic cancels out the power of the Water spell.
